What other matches are played during Finals Week?
In 2009 two Promotion/Relegation games were played on Finals Day between the bottom two 1st Grade, Division 1 teams and the top two 1st Grade, Division 2 teams, ie: Division 1/5th (Western) v Division 2/2nd (Bay of Plenty) and Division 1/6th (North) v Divison 2/1st (Wellington). The winners of these matches, Western & Wellington, will play in Division 1 in 2010.
The losers, North & Bay of Plenty, will play in Division 2.

This format, developed by Netball New Zealand and its twelve regions and introduced in 2008, gives more match play opportunities for up-and-coming players and more closely replicates the ANZ Championship environment, with home and away games for 1st Grade teams.
