| Verdon College's distinguished netball history includes seven South Island tournament titles, two national titles, a record nine consecutive apearances at the NZSS Championships, and strong representation in Southland Age Group & Senior teams over many years. Former pupils include past Silver Fern Sheryl Waite, and current players Te Huinga Reo Selby-Rickit (NZU21, Southern Sting, Southern Steel, Southland) and Wendy Telfer (Silver Ferns, NZU21, World 7,Southern Sting, Southern Steel & Southland). Wendy's twin sisters Katie & Joanna are members of the 2009 Verdon College side. Verdon's 2009 captain Kendall McMinn was named 2009 NZU19 defender of the tournament. |
