The Silver Ferns bounced back strongly in the final match of the day to thump Jamaica by 9 goals.  Despite losing their first centre pass, Silver Ferns fought back to be ahead by 2 at the end of the first quarter.  Both teams then went goal for goal to draw the 2nd quarter with both the Silver Ferns and Jamaica calling their power play quarters at the same time for the 3rd quarter.

The Silver Ferns maintained their lead in every break and held a small margin of 4 goals going into last quarter.  Full court defensive pressure wore down the Jamaicans in the final minutes forcing errors and the Silver Ferns dominated every phase and built on their lead.  Laura Langman and Casey Williams created a number of turnovers, supported by Katrina Grant at GK.  On attack, Paula Griffin was creating great space in the goal circle and the feeders were able to find van Dyk and Griffin with ease.  Irene van Dyk again showed her class and shot a perfect game at 15 for 15, and Griffin stepped up and took on the greater shooting load putting up 19 attempts.  Coach Ruth Aitken kept the same 7 players on court for the entire match and their confidence grew throughout.

In earlier games, Australia 31 beat Malawi 19, Jamaica 30 beat Samoa 22, England 36 beat Samoa 18
