A strong start for the Silver Ferns laid the foundation for the game with NZ leading from start to finish to win the inaugural World Netball Series Final 32-27.

The match was closely contested throughout and it was not until the 3rd quarter when the Silver Ferns maximised their power play to go into the last quarter 5 goals ahead and what proved to be an unbeatable lead.

Temepara George’s speed on attack, accuracy and flair provided Maria Tutaia and Irene van Dyk with ample opportunities to score. A full team defensive effort pressured the Jamaicans into error at crucial times.

Another perfect shooting game from Irene van Dyk who dominated the goal circle scoring 17 from 17.

It was a great comeback for the team who finished 3rd in pool play.
