Netball New Zealand announced today the appointment of former Fisher & Paykel Managing Director and Chief Executive John Bongard to the Netball New Zealand Board. Bongard was appointed to the position on Thursday 29 October at a Netball New Zealand Board meeting, replacing David Jackson who has finished his term with the NNZ Board due to moving overseas.
Netball New Zealand Board Chair Raewyn Lovett says the Netball New Zealand Board was thrilled to welcome someone with such an incredible business acumen and experience with sponsorship in sport.
"John brings an impressive range of skills to the Board with his outstanding corporate and governance experience", she said.
Bongard says he relishes the opportunity to be involved with Netball at a governance level.
"I have been involved with Netball for over 13 years through the Fisher & Paykel sponsorship and I am looking forward to being part of the future of the sport moving forward", he said.
The appointment is effective immediately.
