2010 - Played 13; Won 7; Finished 6th
The Mystics have 5 new players in their 2011 ANZ Championship team; Megan Dehn, Kayla McAlister, Jessica Moulds, Rachel Rasmussen & Anna Scarlett. Only 3 players remain from the Mystics inaugural (2008) ANZ Championship team; Temepara George, Cathrine Latu and Grace Rasmussen. Rachel Rasmussen returns to the Mystics after missing a contract in 2010. Rasmussen was a member of the inaugural Mystics team in 2008 and again in 2009. Last season Rasmussen was a replacement player for the Pulse in 6 ANZ Championship matches. The Mystics have two mothers in their side; Temepara George and Rachel Rasmussen. The Mystics have defeated just one Australian side in ANZ Championship history. The Mystics defeated the Thunderbirds 55-52 in Round 1 last year which is their only win over an Australian side. The Mystics have five 2010 Silver Ferns team members; Temepara George, Joline Henry, Grace Rasmussen, Anna Scarlett and Maria Tutaia. The Mystics recorded their highest ever ANZ Championship finish when they ended the 2010 season in 6th place. The Mystics also recorded their most wins defeating 7 teams which betters their previous win tally of 5 matches in 2008. The Mystics are one of three teams with sisters in their playing ranks, Rachel and Grace Rasmussen. The other sisters are Josie and Alicia Janz from the Fever and Te Huinga Reo and Te Paea Selby-Rickit from the Steel. Megan Dehn joins the Mystics after three seasons with the Steel. Dehn is one of four Australian import players playing in New Zealand ANZ Championship teams. The others are Peta Scholz (Magic), Caitlin Thwaites (Pulse) and Natasha Chokljat (Steel). Debbie Fuller is the only new ANZ Championship coach for the 2011 season. Fuller is the Mystics 3rd coach in four years for the Mystics.
