Anna Thompson

Twenty seven year old attacker Anna Thompson was named in the Silver Ferns squad in 2008 making made her debut in the 2nd Test of the World 7 Test Series on 26 August 2009. Most recently, Thompson played in the first leg of the 2012 Quad Series.

The Cantabrian is the only player in the FastNet Ferns to have represented New Zealand at all four World Netball Series tournaments, which includes the Fast5 Netball World Series in Auckland last year.

Another of the younger contingent to make the step-up from the 2005 World Youth Championship winning NZU21 team, attacker Anna Thompson joined the Silver Ferns squad in 2008.

She brings a great sense of timing, ability to read play, precision off-loads and pin-point accuracy to the team which all add to Thompson’s repertoire in the shooting circle. Prior to making the Silver Ferns she spent five years playing in the National Bank Cup and for the NZA side.

During the six years of the ANZ Championship she has stayed loyal and played for the EasiYo Tactix as their only remaining foundation player.
