Anna Thompson
Anna Thompson is the only player in teh FastNet Ferns to have represented New Zealand at all three World Netball Series tournaments.
Another of the younger contingent to make the step-up from the 2005 World Youth Championship winning NZU21 team, attacker Anna Thompson joined the Silver Ferns squad in 2008.
A good sense of timing, ability to read play, precision off-loads and improved accuracy have all added to Thompson’s growing repertoire in the shooting circle. Prior to making the Silver Ferns she spent five years playing in the National Bank Cup and for NZA.
During the three years of the ANZ Championship she has played for the Canterbury Tactix. In her second season with the Canterbury Tactix she shot 91% against Magic in Round 12, 90% against Firebirds in Round 11, and 88% against Steel in Round 7. She ended this season with a 79.8 percent shooting record.
Thompson was named in the Silver Ferns team for the 2009 New World International Series against the World 7, and made her debut in the 2nd Test of that Series on 26 August 2009.
