Kayla Cullen

Kayla Cullen has endured a long recovery from a major knee injury, working hard on her fitness to earn her way back into the Silver Ferns Squad for the 2014/2015 season.  Cullen has taken the traditional route on her way to Silver Ferns, progressing through the NZ Secondary School ranks and the NZU21 Squad.

Hints of her undoubted talent were highlighted when the teenager was named part of the New Zealand team which successfully defended the 2010 & 2011 World FastNet title without their Silver Ferns.

Cullen played an outstanding season by becoming a first choice starter and scooping the 2011 ANZ Championship Best Young Player award.

Cullen is a versatile player, playing in a myriad of positions for the Northern Mystics, including wing defence, centre and goal defence.
