Laura Langman plays centre, wing attack and wing defence for the Silver Ferns. Laura has been named Captain for the final five test matches of 2011.
The Silver Ferns celebrated Langman's 50th test cap with a memorable extra-time victory against England on 15 October 2009. Langman's value to the Silver Ferns is highlighted by the fact that that she has taken to the court in every Silver Ferns test since making the team .
Langman was selected for the NZU21 side at 16, made the Silver Ferns squad a year later, and won her first test cap against England in 2005, at the age of nineteen. That same year, she led New Zealand to victory in the World Youth Championships, and in 2006 won a Commonwealth Games gold medal with the Silver Ferns.
In the ANZ Championship her loyalty has remained with the Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic where she has played for the last four seasons.
